Finish your cabinet project off with appealing long-lasting cabinet knobs and pulls from Amerock, Hickory Hardware, Berenson, Liberty, Schaub, Siro, Top Knobs, Emenee and other cabinet hardware brands. With the right combination of style, design, finish and functionality, your new cabinet hardware will not only allow you to open your cabinet doors and drawers, but will help unify your cabinets with the surrounding decor.
Selecting your new cabinet knobs and pulls can be a daunting task. However, a couple of basic things can make your search much narrower at the start.
If you are replacing existing cabinet hardware (doing a cabinet reface or something like it) then you are restricted to the holes that are already drilled in your cabinet doors, unless you don't mind filling holes with wood putty. If you have existing cabinet handles, measure the center-to-center (C-C) of the screw holes to determine the mounting dimension you require for those. The most common is 3" C-C, although 96mm is becoming popular as a metric dimension.
Sometimes cabinet handles have an odd center-to-center measurement, such as 2-1/2", and you could have a hard time finding something you like that will fit. One easy solution is to use a backplate with the handle. This accomplishes two things; 1) covers up the old holes, 2) allows you the freedom to choose pretty much any size you want, giving you a sea of new choices!
